Doctors mainly know that oral contraceptives/ birth control pills cause clots but these are not hormones and are not found in nature. Transdermal human hormones do NOT cause increased risk of clots. Of note is that oral progesterone imposters such as Provera or progestins found in oral contraceptives DO cause clots. This is another reason why I use only human replica Progesterone. See attached studies to show your other physicians so as to dispel this prevailing myth.
- Menopausal hormone therapy and venous thromboembolism
- Transdermal estrogens, unlike oral estrogens, are not associated with an increased VTE (venous thromboembolism) risk
- Use of hormone replacement therapy and risk of venous thromboembolism: nested case-control studies using the QResearch and CPRD databases.
