Serrapeptase (serratiopeptidase) is a protein-digesting enzyme isolated from the friendly bacterium Serratia marcescens.* Studies indicate that serrapeptase is absorbed intact from the digestive tract and that it acts systemically to support healthy immune system functions and promote the body’s normal healing processes.* Some evidence suggests that serrapeptase may support respiratory health by helping to maintain normal mucus secretions.*
What is Serrapeptase?
Serrapeptase is an enzyme derived from silkworms and is thought to lessen pain, reduce clots and thin blood, and reduce inflammation.
Serrapeptase for Blood Clots
Serratiopeptidase is known to dissolve blood clots and atherosclerotic plaques by breaking down fibrin and other damaged tissue. It can also remove deposits of fatty substances, cholesterol, and cellular waste inside the arteries. The fibrinolytic property of serratiopeptidase may also help with the problems of thick blood, stroke risk, and thrombophlebitis/ blood clots.
